Las muestras biol\u00f3gicas y los datos de salud de COLS estar\u00e1n disponibles para investigadores calificados que realicen investigaciones relacionadas con la salud dise\u00f1adas para mejorar la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica o la salud y la calidad de vida en general. Los investigadores aprobados del mundo acad\u00e9mico, gubernamental y de empresas comerciales podr\u00e1n solicitar acceso a los recursos de COLS.<\/p>\n<p>COLS est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para satisfacer una necesidad abrumadora expresada por investigadores m\u00e9dicos de todo el mundo de acceder a muestras longitudinales y datos de salud de una poblaci\u00f3n diversa. Las bioespec\u00edmenes (sangre) de los participantes combinadas con datos personales de salud, comportamiento y medio ambiente recopilados durante un per\u00edodo de a\u00f1os proporcionar\u00e1n a los investigadores un recurso sin precedentes. Los investigadores ya est\u00e1n proponiendo estudios que aprovechar\u00edan el biobanco COLS para:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identificar biomarcadores que predicen el desarrollo de la enfermedad a\u00f1os antes, permitiendo una intervenci\u00f3n temprana para detener el desarrollo de la enfermedad.<\/li>\n<li>Identificar las condiciones que conducen a una mala salud en comunidades desfavorecidas, como tipos espec\u00edficos de vivienda, cuestiones ambientales o educaci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Asesores cient\u00edficos COLS<\/h5>\n<p>Varios colaboradores han brindado experiencia y orientaci\u00f3n invaluables a COLS sobre m\u00faltiples temas, como el muestreo de muestras biol\u00f3gicas, el estudio de los determinantes sociales de la salud, el almacenamiento de mol\u00e9culas fr\u00e1giles y mucho m\u00e1s.
