Our Commitment to Diversity
Including populations that are typically underrepresented in research is a priority for COLS. We have dedicated significant time and resources to ensure that we can engage with all communities in an authentic, ongoing way, to build trust and ensure input from community members in our biobank. COLS is committed to ensuring participation from people who represent diversity in a number of areas:
- Race
- Ethnicity
- Culture
- Age
- Gender
- Socioeconomic status
- Geography (rural, urban, mountains, plains)
We believe in health equity and strive to ensure that people from diverse and underrepresented groups are part of COLS. We know that transparency, honesty, and trust are the foundation for our community engagement which allows everyone to be represented. Together, we know that we can truly fulfill our vision towards health equity, justice, and a healthier future for ALL.
