Emily Montes Ramos

Clinical Research Technician & Community Engagement Lead

Emily Montes is a clinical research technician and the community engagement coordinator at Colorado Longitudinal Study (COLS). She recently graduated from Colorado State University-Fort Collins majoring in Health and Exercise Science with a concentration in Health Promotion. Coming from a family where home remedies would solve almost every health issue, she realized that there would be a point at which her parents would need to visit the doctor but cultural and language differences and the cost of care would create reasons not to go to the doctor’s office. This pushed her to take an interest in health to be able to help educate her parents and others who have similar issues. She grew a passion for learning about different ways of staying healthy and sharing that knowledge with others. She is unsure of what path to take in the future but is interested in Public Health, Research, or becoming a Physician Assistant.
